The Intrinsic Practice of the Church Life

The church life is the all-inclusive Christ with His unsearchable riches realized, experienced, and expressed by all the saints in a corporate way. If we would have such a church life, we need to be constituted with Christ until all that we are and have is simply Christ Himself. Lord, constitute Yourself into me for Your expression in Los Angeles.

High School Conferences

The high school conferences are October 31 to November 2, brothers in Irvine, sisters in Anaheim. Please pray that the Lord prepare the hearts of the young people for this special time. We hope that during the conference each of the young people would be helped to experience Christ as life and be built up with companions. May the Lord gain them as gospel seeds that are full of life in their homes, among their friends, and at their schools.

Southern California Blending Conference POSTPONED

The Southern California Blending Conference scheduled for Saturday, November 15, has been postponed. The new conference date will probably be in early 2015.

Bibles for America

On November 1, BfA will begin a three-week distribution tour across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Florida. They will give away free copies of the New Testament Recovery Version and books by Witness Lee and Watchman Nee at college campuses and other venues in 13 cities.

Please pray for the Lord's blessing on the coordination and preparation for this tour. Pray also that He would prepare His sons of peace to meet the participating saints and receive from them the supplying and nourishing materials available from BfA.

London

In November, we will have a series of seminars in four locations across London every Lord's Day of the month (for a total of 20 seminars; see http://www.amanatrust.org.uk/novemberseminars). The burden is that a new district of the church in London would be raised up. Our work has been ongoing for a few weeks now (outline writing, phone calling, practical logistics, etc.), but once again, the real labour needs to be much and thorough prayer. We need every aspect of the seminar preparation this month to be covered by and supplied through prayer.

The topic of the seminar is Changing Death into Life and will focus on 8 gospel cases in the book of John. May the Lord change much death into life. May a harvest be reaped across the city of London for the Lord to gain His building in the largest city in Europe. Pray for:

  • the preparation for the November seminars;
  • the phone calls being made to invite Londoners to the seminars. Pray that good contacts would be made and that many would be open to attend the seminars in their area;
  • the supply to all the labouring saints preparing for the seminars.

The Heading Up of All Things

God's economy of the fullness of the times is to head up all things in Christ. Today the entire creation is groaning in vanity and the slavery of corruption (Rom. 8:20-22). For creation to be released, we, the Body of Christ, need to be the first to be headed up by Christ. We participate in this heading up by receiving Christ’s transmission to the church, by loving Him with the first love, by growing in life, and by living in the light.

Junior High Conferences

The junior high conferences are October 24 to 26, brothers in Diamond Bar, sisters in Riverside. Please pray that the Lord prepare the hearts of the young people for this special time. We hope that during the conference each of the young people would be helped to experience Christ as life and be built up with companions. May the Lord gain them as gospel seeds that are full of life in their homes, among their friends, and at their schools.

Los Angeles Joint College Meeting

This dinner and meeting will be 6 to 8:30 pm Saturday, October 25, on the UCLA campus at the LA Tennis Center clubhouse. Try to find parking on nearby streets. We hope that this time will be a mutual encouragement among the campuses by seeing each other and by enjoying the Lord together.

Southern California Blending Conference

The Southern California Blending Conference will be Saturday, November 15, 4 to 9 pm in Anaheim. Translation will be provided for Chinese, Korean, and Spanish; bring an FM radio. Limited childcare will be available; details will be announced later.

Father, according to the riches of Your glory, strengthen us with power into our inner man so that we have Your longing for this conference, and so that we may apprehend the vastness of Christ with all the saints. (Eph. 3:16, 18)

Canada

The website http://www.lordsmoveincanada.org has information on the history, development, and current status of the Lord's recovery in Canada. The website also has information about each of the churches in Canada. Those who attended the recent ITERO in Toronto testify that the atmosphere is fresh and that the Lord has a way to move in this country. Lord, may Your word of the truth of the gospel continue bearing fruit and growing in Canada! (Col. 1:5-6)

Europe

October 21 to 23 approximately 150 brothers from the churches in Europe will gather in Baarlo, Netherlands, to review the messages given during the fall 2014 ITERO in Toronto, Canada. October 24 to 26 the fall international conference will be held in Baarlo for all the saints in Europe.

Please pray:

  • That the burden of the Lord's speaking at the ITERO will be received by the brothers in Europe without hindrance, and that this burden will be carried out in the churches for the building up of the Body of Christ to consummate the age for the Lord’s return.
  • For the blending of all the saints in Europe in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity for the building up of the Body and the realization of the one new man in Europe.

India

October 19-26 a group of young adult brothers from different localities in India will go to Taiwan. The burden of this trip is that the brothers may be blended in the fellowship of the Body and to learn from the experience of different churches in shepherding and perfecting, so that they may shepherd the saints and be built up in their respective localities with an intrinsic view of the Body of Christ.

LA Joint Meeting

Lord's Day, October 19 the whole church in Los Angeles will gather at L.A. Trade Tech College at 10 a.m. May the Lord really use this time to blend us together for the sake of the impact of His testimony in Los Angeles.

Rome

There are currently 15 to 18 saints meeting on the Lord's Day. We have gained as many as seven young people from the Rome campuses; however, most of these have migrated to other localities for graduate studies, and one is planning to attend the full-time training. Two Romanian families have begun to come to the meetings, but we are especially burdened to gain more Italian families. We have many contacts in the communities with whom we have built relationships. While we will continue to go to the campus once a week for Bible distribution, we feel to focus on building up four home meetings and inviting local contacts. We are preparing an invitation to study the Bible, which we will give to those living in our respective apartment buildings. For this we desperately need the prayer of the Body, so please pray that families from our local communities will be added to these four home meetings. Please also pray that more young people from the campuses will be added to the church in Rome.

In the past two years Rhema has gone from zero to 6,887 requests, 2,924 names, and 4,052 order fulfillments, all from people living in Italy. We look to the Lord that many of these could be added to the churches in Italy.

Bulgaria and the Balkan countries

Approximately 120 adults registered for the conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 3-5 October, of which 75 were from Bulgaria, 10 from Serbia, 10 from Romania, 4 from Greece, and some from Germany, UK, and US. The saints from Serbia are from a new group that has been reading the ministry and found the conference via a Google search. Please pray:

  • For the upcoming visit of serving saints to Croatia and Serbia for shepherding the new ones.
  • That the Lord will raise up churches in Bulgaria and in Croatia, Serbia, and the other countries in the Balkan region of Europe.

ITERO

The International Training for Elders and Responsible Ones will be October 9 to 11 in Toronto. Lord's Day, October 12, the trainees are invited to a blending meeting with the churches in Canada.

The subject is The Vision, Practice, and Building Up of the Church as the Body of Christ. May our vision become more clear, our practice become upgraded, and the building up go higher and broader.

L.A. Joint Meeting

Lord's Day, October 19 the whole church in Los Angeles will gather at L.A. Trade Tech College at 10 a.m. (same location as in April). Maps will be distributed next weekend.

Colossians 2:19, "Holding the Head, out from whom all the Body, being richly supplied and knit together by means of the joints and sinews, grows with the growth of God." May we come together holding Christ our Head, so that everyone may experience the rich supply, the knitting together, and the growth of God.

UCLA

Supported by the prayer of the church, the full-time team and over 30 students participated in follow-up visits to incoming students we met over the summer. Almost 100 students were personally visited this last week, with many joining into Bible studies in the dorms. At least 20 of these new contacts attended small group meetings Friday night.

Next week will be our first Bible study and on-campus college meeting. Please continue to pray that the Lord will bless these gatherings and gain more of the reality of His Body through our labor at UCLA.

Fellowship and Perfecting

Saturday, October 18 from 4 to 9 PM there will be a time of fellowship and perfecting for the Spanish-speaking saints. This will be at 1855 W Ball Rd in Anaheim. Messages will be in English with translation; there will not be child care; bring your own dinner.

India

Amana Literature was at the World Christian EXPO in India. The Lord gave us the wisdom during the EXPO to clarify some of the common questions, such as who we are, who Witness Lee was, the relationship between Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, the local church, Living Stream Ministry, and the Recovery Version of the Bible. The Lord answered the prayer of the Body and gave us the grace, the wisdom and the anointing to clarify these questions. After every speaking, many of the people there ended up buying the ministry books and the Recovery Version Bible.

There are many positive responses and testimonies from this event. We pray and believe that the interpreted word in the ministry will continue to flow out prevailingly, reaching many more thirsty and seeking believers all over India. Glory be to God!

ITERO

The International Training for Elders and Responsible Ones will be October 9 to 11 in Toronto. Lord's Day, October 12, the trainees are invited to a blending meeting with the churches in Canada.

The burden of this training is that the Lord will make us all able ministers of the New Testament, effective building material for the universal building up of the Body of Christ, and good stewards and serving ones in our respective local churches.

UCLA

UCLA classes will begin Thursday, October 2. As the new school year begins, please join us to pray that the Lord would gain material for His building from this campus. We have been touching the Lord's heart for people, and are burdened to emphasize going to meet students rather than simply inviting them to events. The Wednesday before school starts, we will visit students we've contacted both over the summer and at the club fair on Tuesday. Around 80 of the summer contacts have indicated that they would like to be visited, and more have been visited in the last few days. Please pray that in these visits we would be one with the visiting God for the accomplishment of His purpose.

Bibles for America

From September 12 to 17, BfA staff members joined local saints to distribute free Bibles and ministry books at an assortment of venues and college campuses in San Luis Obispo, Santa Rosa, Berkeley, Sacramento, Merced, and Visalia. On the last day, at Visalia's College of the Sequoias, the saints set up a table and gave away their last 40 Bibles; based on the openness of students, they could have given away many more.

The saints were well-received at every venue. People approached with questions like, "What does it mean that we will perish?" and comments like, "I read the first page of The Normal Christian Life, and I want more!" A total of 240 Bibles and 360 ministry books, as well as hundreds of brochures and gospel tracts, were distributed during the tour.

Please pray that the word will continue to run in Central and Northern California, and that the many seeds that were sown during the tour will take root and bear fruit. Pray also that the local saints will be strengthened into the inner man as they follow up with recipients who requested further contact.

Bulgaria

There will be a conference in Sofia, Bulgaria October 3 to 5. Many new people are expected. Pray for the furtherance of the Lord's move here.

Düsseldorf, Germany

The full amount for the purchase of the meeting hall in Düsseldorf has now been received through the gifts of the saints. We thank the Lord for this! The prayer of the saints for this matter has therefore been answered. Praise Him!

"God Has Blended the Body Together" (1 Cor. 12:24)

Lord's Day, October 19 the whole church in Los Angeles will gather at L.A. Trade Tech College (the same location as in April). Ask the Lord to release every one of us to attend and to exercise our spirit to partake of the blending which God has already accomplished.

Korean Language Bible Distribution

The Korean-speaking saints did a Bible distribution during the L.A. Korean Festival last week (September 18-21). We distributed about 1100 Bibles including 100 English and 80 Spanish. This will be followed by Bible seminars on three Saturdays—September 27, October 4 and 11. Through the seminars they hope to get many seekers to participate in their weekly Bible club meetings.

The overall atmosphere was good and many people appreciated the free study Bible and showed interest in Bible seminars or Bible clubs. We received contact information for about 650 people.

Spain and Portugal

The saints serving in the Iberian Peninsula are burdened to cover the full Peninsula including Spain, Portugal, their island territories, the micro state of Andorra, and Gibraltar. The total population is close to 60 million. The Lord is opening up many areas, some where we have new saints meeting, others with contacts and scattered saints.

At present there are three couples serving full time in Madrid and one in Lisbon. The scattered and new saints need much shepherding; frequent and personal visits are the best way and central to our service here. Given the need and the size of the field, we feel we are very shorthanded.

The Lord's recovery in here started in the early 80s and there had been some young saints sent to the full-time training several years ago. Then there was a gap of a few years with no young saints in the full-time training. Now there is a new crop who has been raised up and over the past two years some have graduated from the training and begun serving.

A three-page report about the Lord's move here is at https://churchinlosangeles.org/prayer.

Switzerland

After many months of struggle, Christians on Campus in Lausanne is officially an organization now. First campus in Switzerland. Lord, provide many more.

Lebanon and Cyprus

The church in Beirut warmly extends an invitation to the churches to share with us in a time of fellowship and blending to be held on the island of Cyprus September 25-28.

Korean Language Bible Distribution

The Korean-speaking saints are actively working toward the Bible distribution during the L.A. Korean Festival next week (September 18-21) followed by Bible Seminars September 27, October 4 and 11.

This annual, four-day festival is the biggest event in the Korean community in North America. We have a booth and will distribute the Recovery Version and invite the recipients to our Bible seminars. Please pray that:

  1. The gospel of the kingdom could be preached through this distribution.
  2. All the Bibles distributed would be read with good impression.
  3. Many people would be open to further contacts, especially to attend the three Bible seminars.
  4. This Bible distribution wouldn't remain as a mere outward activity, but would become an opportunity to perfect and vitalize the Korean-speaking saints.

Thousand Oaks

By the Lord's mercy, the Church in Thousand Oaks' number is steadily increasing. Over-crowding at our meeting hall is a serious problem for both adults and children. After over six months of fellowship and planning, we came to the decision to implement two sessions on Lord's Days, starting September 14.

  • English-speaking saints will meet from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. After that we are planning to have a campus ministry meeting from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. We are diligently looking for a place on/near campus.
  • Chinese-speaking saints will meet from 10:45 AM to 12:30 PM. We will have lunch together after the meeting for shepherding and fellowship.

This is a giant step for us out of necessity. We are in fear and trembling, yet we trust in the Lord's mercy and grace. We need much of your prayer and support in the spirit.

Sierra Leone

The 2014 Ebola outbreak is the largest Ebola outbreak in history and the first in West Africa. The current outbreak is strongly affecting the nations of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia in West Africa. Half the people who get Ebola die.

(The following is from an email sent by a brother in the recovery in Sierra Leone)

Ebola is still prevailing in Sierra Leone and destroying like fire in [a dry wind]. We need your prayers at all time. 100s have lost their lives to Ebola and more are dying every day. We shall observe a three days sit down at home on the 19th-21st of this month nation wide. There shall be no Church meetings and no other religious meetings nation wide. This is really very serious...... We need God's intervention.

United Kingdom

This week is the beginning of a busy time all across the UK.

Freshers' Fayres (freshman orientations) in which we will participate are in Edinburgh, 3 places in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Reading, Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich, Cardiff, Sheffield, Southampton.

Luke 10:1-2. "Now after these things, the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to come. And He said to them, the harvest is great, but the workers few; therefore, beseech the Lord of the harvest that He would thrust out workers into His harvest."

We believe that the Lord is about to come to all these places. Truly we must beseech and pray that there would be the workers who would present themselves willingly to be thrust into the Lord's harvest. Please pray for all these Freshers' Fayres that the Lord would gain what He needs to gain His building material, build His church, and end this age.

Switzerland

The annual Swiss French-speaking conference is September 20-21. Ask the Lord to bring many together to be blended in spirit, and to release a word for the furtherance of His move there.

Ask the Lord to bring seekers to internet sites which are rich in life and truth, and to cause these seekers to interact with these web sites so that continuing fellowship may develop.

Albania

Tirana is the capital of Albania. There are 9 saints and 2 children meeting together. David and Elda Chang (in L.A. in past years), who migrated here with their two girls, opened an English pre-school last year (http://tiranaschool.org). And the Lord has been using the school in many ways. Please pray:

  • that preparation for the new year, which begins September 1, would go smoothly;
  • for more students to take the place of those who are older or who moved away;
  • for the Lord to strengthen and encourage the saints here!

Düsseldorf, Germany

The church life began in Düsseldorf in 2008 with 12 saints through a migration. Since then the church has grown under the Lord's blessing through both increase and migration. The attendance in the Lord's Day meeting now reaches up to 40 and the church has outgrown its current rented meeting rooms. A property has recently become available for purchase which could serve as a meeting hall for the church as well as a location for the blending of the saints in the region. We in Düsseldorf feel very good about this purchase.

If you desire to help, you may give to the church designated for Düsseldorf meeting hall.

Sri Lanka

September 1 to 14 there will be a two-week intensified propagation in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, a city where there is a local church.
