Introduction

“It is evident that a spiritual seeking and hunger for the truth is increasing throughout the United States, especially among the younger generations. In 2026, two significant events will present a unique opportunity for gospel preaching and distributing the Recovery Version in North America and particularly the United States: the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the FIFA World Cup matches. The saints in the Lord’s recovery have a marvelous opportunity to rise up and spread God’s interpreted Word to hungry seekers throughout North America.” (TSUF Burden Statement)

In light of the increased openness and the particular events going on, Bibles for America (BfA) is preparing 500,000 copies of the New Testament Recovery Version in English and Spanish, bundled together with Basic Elements of the Christian Life, vol. 1. The Church in Los Angeles will be participating in the distribution of the Word of God and the interpreted word. Los Angeles will have a unique opportunity with 8 World Cup matches being played nearby.

The burden for the saints’ participation is twofold: (1) in the long-term, through this endeavoring in 2026, the saints would cultivate a gospel living, and (2) in this window of opportunity, the saint would be able to participate in the Lord’s specific move at this specific time.

Brother Watchman Nee says,

More than half of God’s will is found in His opportunity. One day when we stand before God, we will see that most of God’s will lies in the opportunities He has given us. If we can identify the opportunities, we can identify God’s will. This is a very serious matter. Daniel 11:32 says, “The people who know their God will…take action.” (CWWN, vol. 55, p. 199)

This year the saints have the opportunity to practice developing a gospel living and to participate in the Lord’s specific opportunity.
