Prayer, Week of August 17, 2014
USC
USC begins classes on August 25, and we have many crucial activities and times of fellowship before this, including a retreat with the students Monday through Wednesday of this week. Please pray that:
- The students would be freshly loving the Lord with the first love.
- They would be filled with the divine love to love one another and love all men, especially their classmates and friends.
- The Lord would work in the hearts of the freshmen and incoming students, bringing us into contact with those chosen by Him especially through our gospel preaching on Friday, Saturday, and Lord's Day.
- The Lord would gather many freshmen and seeking ones to our first campus ministry meeting on Lord's Day, August 24; may the Lord also richly anoint the word spoken then.
CSUN
Our students have been contacting the freshmen at the orientations the past two weeks. They have been serving alongside the full-time saints in an internship to learn to labor together as one team for the Lord's testimony and move at CSUN. We have been encouraged by this labor as many of our students are contacting new ones for the first time and reading the Bible with them! The fall semester begins August 25. Please pray that our students would:
- Continue to be built together as a strong core to bear the Lord's testimony on campus;
- Have consistent follow-up with all the positive ones they met during orientation;
- Be energized with the Spirit as they are busy contacting many new ones at the start of the semester;
- And get solidly connected to the homes of the saints to bear much remaining fruit from this incoming freshmen class.
FTTA
The fall term of the FTTA began last week. Pray that each new trainee will receive a personal speaking from the Lord to confirm their calling to be in the training, that all the trainees will experience the Lord as their fresh consecration, and that they will pursue Christ with a single heart to be constituted with Him for the building up of His Body.
Southern California Spanish-Speaking Training
This year's training will begin this Saturday, followed by one Saturday each in September and in November. The focus is the vision of shepherding, vital companions and prayer for shepherding, and practical points concerning shepherding.
United Kingdom and Ireland
The annual blending conference for these nations will be August 23 to 24.
Commonwealth Games Bible Distribution Report
From July 23 to August 3, 22 local saints and 19 visiting saints distributed free Bibles in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland, during the 2014 Commonwealth Games. A total of 428 Bibles were given out, with 231 recipients requesting further contact. Every day we gathered for prayer and coordination at a local home, following which two teams went out to distribute, one to a Games venue and another to a residential area. Our contact with local people was significantly better in the residential area. The people were quite open, and we had a number of good conversations, including some with our neighbors. We would like to thank all the saints for their prayer and participation for this time.
Please keep praying for:
- The Lord's faithful follow up in and through the saints.
- The gaining of those who can uphold the testimony of Jesus in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
- The Lord to raise up many home meetings in Glasgow and Edinburgh and lampstands in the other major cities in Scotland.

Prayer, Week of August 10, 2014
Birmingham, Alabama
Praise the Lord of the harvest. He continues to add to us in His time. The number of saints meeting is on an upward trend and is encouraging. A brother finished his medical residency and moved here to join his wife. He got a faculty position at University of Alabama Birmingham. Another brother started medical school here. Pray for these in the medical field. We hope to establish a weekly time of fellowship with them on campus. May the Lord gain many of their classmates and colleagues. We have saints in 5 homes now living around the campus. A very sweet home based church life.
FTT London
Approximately 15 first-term trainees will join the FTTL when the term begins on August 11. Please pray that the university graduates in Europe will respond to the Lord's call to be perfected by Him through the FTTL so that they can become useful vessels for the building up of His Body.
Effect of the European Young People's Conference
Approximately 750 saints, including young people, serving ones, and families, gathered in Poland, from 27 July through 2 August. Please pray that:
- all the young people in Europe will see and be controlled by the heavenly vision that was unveiled to them through the conference messages and the fellowship in the small groups
- the Lord will continue to appear to the young people so that He will gain them to love Him as the most attractive One and to fully consecrate themselves to Him for His good pleasure
European College Training
The training is this week Monday through Lord's Day in London.
Baltic Nations
The Baltic blending conference is Friday through Lord's Day in Latvia.
Asia
This week Monday through Lord's Day there is a propagation training in India and gospel outreach in Laos. Friday through Lord’s Day is a national blending conference in Sri Lanka.

Southern California Young People
The 2014 Junior High Gospel Perfecting Conference will be Saturday, August 30, 9 am through dinner time, followed by the Southern California Young People Blending Meeting 7:30 to 9:30 pm. These will be at Arcadia's meeting hall.
BfA in Alaska
Saints in Anchorage, Alaska, distributed free BfA materials July 26-27 at the 2014 Arctic Thunder Air Show. This show is one of the largest public events in Alaska and drew approximately 250,000 people. Many attendees received a New Testament Recovery Version, Basic Elements of the Christian Life, vol. 1, and a Bibles for America military packet.
Please pray that:
- The Lord would lead many U.S. service members to salvation.
- The Lord would nourish the recipients and stir up a hunger in them for more of this ministry.
- The saints would have much opportunity to provide follow-up care for the recipients from this time.
- The Lord would shepherd and strengthen the saints as they labor together to gain remaining fruit.
Migrations in the UK and Europe
Over 30 saints, including existing serving saints and graduates from the FTTL and the FTTA-XB, will migrate to different parts of the UK and Europe to strengthen the church life and the clustering of the churches in each area. The cities are Cambridge, Chelmsford, Coventry, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff, Southampton, and London in the UK, and Bucharest, Romania, and Madrid, Spain. Please pray for the Lord's abundant blessing and the strengthening, increase, and testimony in these cities.
Thessaloniki, Greece
By the end of August two serving couples will move from Athens to Thessaloniki. The Lord has given them apartments in a strategic location for His move in Thessaloniki. The serving ones have been visiting and shepherding a number of seeking readers of the ministry in that city. Please pray that:
The Lord will head up the practical arrangements for the relocating of the serving ones
The Lord will gain the seeking ones and raise up a strong testimony in Thessaloniki

Lord, Bring Us to the Reality
Because we have the dream of Bethel, the house of God, we are now moving on to the reality of Bethel. Let us ask the Lord to bring us into the reality of Bethel and to cause us to know Him as El-Bethel (the God of the house of God) and El Shaddai (the all-sufficient God).
European Young People's Conference
The 20th European young people's conference is this week in Poland. Please pray:
- For the gathering and the blending of the young people from all over Europe;
- For a clear and controlling vision of God's economy to be infused into all the young people through the ministry of the word and fellowship in small groups.

India
At the beginning of 2014 we had eight gospel forums in five top universities in Delhi and Chennai. The students responded very positively and almost every forum was full house. This was indeed a break-through with previously hard-to-contact students, bringing in a new situation for the campus work here.
We also preached the gospel at the University of Delhi and in the city of Ghaziabad. College students and working saints from Taiwan and Malaysia consecrated their Chinese New Year holidays to come and coordinate with us. Over 40 got saved during this time including one complete family. Seeing the Lord turn again the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream and were full of praises (Psa. 126:1).
The Middle East is an extremely restricted region for the gospel. We have a deep sense that our work in India will pave the way for the gospel in the Middle East, and this will hasten the Lord's return.

- increased participation of our young people in a continuing, vital, house-to-house church life.

The annual Nordic nations' conference will be July 18 to 20 in Uppsala, Sweden. It will be followed by a brothers’ fellowship July 20 to 21. Please pray:
- For the gathering of the saints and the release of the Lord's enlightening and life-giving word through the ministering brothers.
- For the perfecting of the brothers so that the church life may uplifted and the churches built up.
Laos
This month there is intensified gospel propagation in the city of Pakse, the second largest city in the nation. Lord's Day, July 27 will be the first meeting of the church in Pakse.

Let Us Be Brought on to Maturity (Heb. 6:1)
Video trainings will occur throughout this month and into August in various parts of the world. Please pray for a rich entrance into God's dream and for a daily opening to the Lord for His transformation and maturing work.

About 50 saints from various parts in L.A. are attending the west coast college trainings this week at Engedi and Occidental, California. The midwest and east coast trainings are July 14-20. Our topic this year is "The Humanity of Jesus." In particular, please pray:
- For the Lord to speak a sanctifying and preserving word so that the students could have a proper humanity;
- For the students' learning to spend personal time with the Lord, blending with each other, and picking up a burden for sinners' salvation;
- For every student, especially the incoming college freshmen, to have the Lord's personal appearing and to consecrate themselves fully to the Lord;

Bibles for America
Over 13,000 people have ordered BfA's new free book, A Life Full of Forbearance but without Anxiety, since its release in early May. Praise the Lord for this opportunity for so many to be introduced to the precious ministry available in Life-study of the Bible. Please pray that:
- The recipients would read and enjoy this sample of the Life-study messages.
- This taste would cause many to appreciate the ministry of Witness Lee and to seek out the full
and other ministry books by Brothers Nee and Lee.
Germany
Currently, a couple in Frankfurt is opening their living room in a rented two-bedroom apartment for 20-25 adults and 8 children to meet on Lord's Day. There is now not enough room to fit more into the meeting. The coordinating ones in Frankfurt have been trying to rent a bigger meeting place for the Lord's Day meeting, from schools, offices, etc., and have not yet been successful. Please pray that the Lord will provide a suitable meeting place and will also provide the finances to support the renting of such a place.
Nepal
This week Wednesday through Friday there is a young people's training in Nepal (a nation of 31 million people between India and China).

Gospel Report
Saturday, June 21, in Arcadia, the semi-annual Chinese-speaking gospel in-reaping had over 700 attend including 89 gospel friends. After the first session—the gospel truth forum—many gospel friends came to the podium to receive the Lord and 46 were baptized. In the second session, James Lee gave a gospel message on the true freedom (John 8:36) with another 5 baptized. There were many sisters praying during these two sessions; this is the key for us to receive the Lord's blessing that night.
Germany
On June 19 approximately 30 saints from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria distributed German Recovery Version New Testaments at a Christian event in Stuttgart, Germany. According to the event website, there were over 21,000 participants that day. Because this was a gathering of many serious-minded and genuine believers in Christ, our burden was to distribute New Testaments and to make known and available the riches of the truths of the ministry to the German-speaking Christians. We felt that to a certain extent this was fulfilled on that day. All the New Testaments that we had, close to 700, were given out and 20 to 25% asked for further contact. Last, there was a sweet coordination and blending among the saints as they worked together to seek the increase. Please pray:
- For the follow-up contact of the Bible recipients by the saints in the coming days; may many of these recipients be added to the churches as remaining fruit.
- For a positive reception of the Recovery Version and a positive response by German-speaking Christians.
Myanmar (Burma)
Saturday, July 5 is a young people's training. The following Saturday will be an elders’ training.

Summer Training

Spreading in Ventura County
The home meetings of the church in Thousand Oaks have increased in number as well as in the number of saints in each home meeting. We are spreading organically from Thousand Oaks into other cities to take care of the neighborhood needs.
- Oxnard – a couple opened their home. Occasionally the couple's Christian friends and another brother come together. Lately this meeting has become more regular. More saints jointed this meeting (in English). Almost every Thursday, we have a home meeting at the couple’s house.
- Moorpark – six months ago, a couple came back to the church life. They are zealous for the gospel. With the campus work at Moorpark College, the Lord stirred up the spirit of the saints. We started a home meeting four weeks ago (in English).
- Simi Valley – saints there have the burden to labor on CLU. After our 8-week vital group training, saints started a home meeting focus on CLU campus. One new one has been baptized and added to the church life. Meetings are in Chinese.
- Camarillo – in 2008 a couple in Camarillo got saved and they are very burdened for the gospel. They opened their home for meetings. Through the years we held the meeting in English with mostly Chinese saints. We have contacted many English-speaking Christians and brought some into the church life.
- Oak Park (Thousand Oaks north) – many young couples live there and are making contacts with neighbors. We have a Chinese-speaking home meeting. One saint's parent got baptized recently. Two new families are being contacted and shepherded.
- Thousand Oaks – We have two home meeting on Friday nights, one in English and one in Chinese. Thursday morning, we have sisters' meeting in Chinese. Recently, two Chinese-speaking saints got baptized. They are from the care of the sisters’ meeting and Chinese-speaking home meeting.
Please pray, asking the Lord to:
- add new people to each home meeting.
- raise up saints to do the shepherding. The field is white indeed. Lord thrust out laborers!
- open more homes.
Australia & New Zealand
Dick Taylor travels from Australia to New Zealand on Tuesday. He will be at the New Zealand FTT until Friday. Friday night through Lord's Day noon he will be in Auckland for the national college and young people’s conference. He will return home Lord’s Day, June 29, and be in the summer training the next day.
Germany, Switzerland, and Austria
The saints from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria gathered for their annual conference June 7 to 9. Over 300 saints attended from these three countries, as well as many from abroad. We appreciate the prayers from the churches and believe that the Lord did much more than what we can ask or think. We believe that the Lord spoke what was on His heart, and there was an excellent response. In addition, due to the warm atmosphere provided by the Lord, the saints enjoyed the fellowship with one another throughout the weekend. Also coordination in practical services was strengthened, and more saints were brought into function. We pray that the saints will enter into the speaking that they heard so that the Lord can strengthen the net in the German-speaking countries for the building up of His Body.
Pakistan
All this week is a young peoples gospel preaching time in Lahore, Pakistan.
Nepal
The national conference in Nepal will be Friday through Lord's Day.

Prayer, Week of June 15, 2014
The Spirit of Reality: He will Convict and He will Guide
For the raising up of the new man, ask the Lord for more convicting of sinners in Los Angeles and for more guiding of both new and long-time believers into the riches of Christ.
Middle-Age FTTA
This Saturday 35 will graduate from the middle-age full-time training. Ask the Lord to draw each graduate to follow Him wherever He will go and to richly infuse them in their following.
Pray also for more new trainees to come in September so that the number in the training increases.
BfA Korean Bible Seminar
We have been hosting BfA Bible seminars in Korea Town since last fall. These seminars are for the many seeking ones who received Recovery Version Bibles through our distributions or who are connected with us as friends or co-workers. The Lord is using these seminars especially to gain young families and working ones. Some of them are coming to home meetings, some of them already came to the table meeting through further contacts and shepherding.
Last Saturday, 29 new ones joined this seminar. This was the largest number ever, and the majority of them were young (20~30) as we prayed. Hallelujah! Please pray that:
- the Lord vitalize Korean saints to shepherd these new ones to gain them as remaining fruit eventually.
- the Lord take care of families that have children. Lord, preserve these children through household salvation!
- this ministry could reach all the seeking ones in L.A. through the Recovery Version Bible.
Southern California Chinese-speaking Gospel
The gospel meeting will take place in Arcadia on Saturday, June 21. There will be a gospel truth forum 4 to 6 pm, then dinner, then testimonies and a gospel message 7 to 8:30 pm. The subject for gospel message is "Freedom Indeed" from John 8:36. Please pray for the participation of the churches and the release of all the “captives,” that they can believe into the Lord and received the true freedom in Him.
The Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
We will have a conference the afternoon of June 21 through mid-day June 22. We will have our first Lord's Table the morning of Lord’s Day, June 22. Two families from Los Angeles migrated to Murfreesboro in recent years.
Australia
Dick Taylor and Craig Birchler are in Melbourne until Wednesday. Dick will then go on to Sydney to prepare for the following week and to be with the brothers in Sydney. Craig will go to Newcastle for a few days, then return home. James Lee will visit Brisbane, then go home.

FTT London
Last Saturday 15 trainees graduated from FTTL. The graduating trainees plus 3 who graduated last December represent 11 countries. Ten have the burden to serve full time. Please pray that:
- the abounding grace of the Lord will be with them from now until the day the He appears'
- the Lord will grace them to live as a God-man, denying their self, their natural man, and their old man by the power of Christ's resurrection so that they may live Christ, magnify Christ, and walk and work with Christ by the bountiful supply of the all-inclusive Spirit, for the carrying out of God's eternal economy;
- those who have the burden to serve full time will have a way practically to enter into the glorious service of the Lord for the spreading of the Lord's testimony in Europe.
India
Trainees from the Full-time Training New Delhi (FTTND) will have a two-week intensive propagation in five cities – New Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Noida and Ghazhiabad. This will happen June 16 to 29. The trainees will learn to coordinate with the local saints and to raise up new districts in each city.
