Prayer, Week of February 4
The Bountiful Supply of the Spirit in the Body
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell in unity! It is like the fine oil upon the head that ran down upon the beard, upon Aaron's beard, that ran down upon the hem of his garments." (Psa. 133:1-2)
"For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ." (Phil. 1:19)
[In Philippians 1:19] the phrase your petition indicates the supply of the Body. Apparently Paul was in prison; actually he was in the Body. Imprisonment did not isolate him from the Body or cut him off from the supply of the Body. Paul had the clear sense within that he was in the Body and that the members of the Body were supplying him, supporting him, and standing with him.
In 1:19 Paul speaks first of the saints' petition, then of the bountiful supply of the Spirit… The reason Paul speaks of the supply of the Body before the bountiful supply of the Spirit is that the Spirit is upon the Body. Psalm 133 illustrates this: the ointment poured upon Aaron's head flowed down tot he body. This portrays the fact that the ointment, the bountiful supply of the compound Spirit, is upon the Body. Paul realized that he was not the whole Body but just a member of the Body. As a member, he needed the Body's supply. If the Body would be exercised to supply him, the bountiful supply of the Spirit would come to him through the Body. (LS Philippians, msg. 33)
Los Angeles
Here in Los Angeles we have many halls, districts, ages, and languages, but we recognize that the Lord desires one lampstand as the testimony of Jesus in this city! As we look to the Lord for a new beginning in 2018, let us pray for more blending, resulting in the oneness that will command the Lord's blessing (Psa. 133).
Let us also continue to pray for the Lord to increase in the church in Los Angeles for the sake of His testimony. In April 2016, we averaged a total of 542 saints in our Lord's Day meetings and prayed that He would increase our numbers to more than 620. By April 2017, our average attendance climbed to 621, an increase of almost 15%. We then set another goal of reaching an average Lord's Day attendance of 700 in the first half of 2018. Through a gospel living, one-on-one shepherding, prevailing prayers in twos and threes, and nourishing and perfecting in small groups, may the Lord add together, day by day, those who are being saved (Acts 2:47).
FTTA Gospel Trips
Most of the gospel trips in North American cities are continuing through this week. Please pray:
- that the saints would continue to be strengthened, encouraged, and burdened to be involved in the gospel outreach;
- for the blending and building up of the gospel team with the local saints;
- for the new students contacted to attend the Bible studies, get connected with local saints, and become remaining fruit in the church life;
- for the college seniors, that they would be led by the Lord in the next step after graduation, and would consecrate themselves afresh to the Lord;
- that the Lord would guide the serving ones after the trainees leave so they can help the college students continue onto higher ground with the Lord.
FTT London
Twenty-nine trainees from 16 countries began the spring semester of FTTL on February 5. Please pray for the Lord's constituting and perfecting work in each trainee so that all will be gained by the Lord to pursue Him, live Him, and serve Him in His move in Europe.
FTT Pretoria
The new term of the FTTP began on February 5 in Pretoria, South Africa with 11 trainees, two of whom are first-termers. One trainee is from Angola; the rest are local. Please pray:
- for the Lord to release more young people to be trained.
- that the Lord will continue to advance in the training and taking it higher.
- that the trainees would be able to get onto the campus during gospel time to meet students and preach the gospel.
- that the Lord would release the visas for trainees from other African countries to come to the training. It is very difficult to obtain visas.

Prayer, Week of January 28
The Recovery of the Corporate Expression of Christ
"...the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins that He might rescue us out of the present evil age according to the will of our God and Father." (Gal. 1:3b-4) We have been rescued out of the present evil age, and need to experience more rescuing so that our church life can be uplifted.
"We who are many are one Body in Christ, and individually members one of another." (Rom. 12:5) "Christ our life." (Col. 3:4) The church life is the corporate expression of Christ. The church life must be filled with the aroma and flavor of Christ and with the character of God; such a living is the living of the Triune God through our humanity. (The Recovery of the Church, msg 5, VII., VII.C)
For centuries the Lord has been longing for such a church life. We pray that before long this kind of church life will be fully practiced among us in the Lord's recovery. May the Lord be satisfied by seeing such an expression of Himself through the recovery of the genuine church life throughout the earth. (VII.D)
FTTA Gospel Trips
Four gospel trips concluded last weekend. The other 47 trips are continuing through this week and most through next week also. Please pray for:
- the saints to enter into practice of the vital groups and to care for the newly contacted and returning students;
- the capacity of the saints to be increased to meet the need of shepherding all the new ones;
- the recipients of BFA materials to enjoy the riches of the ministry;
- the new students to continue coming to the Bible studies and to become remaining fruit.
Germany
Please continue to pray:
- that more young saints from outside Germany will gain admission to German universities;
- for the learning of the German language by the saints who have emigrated;
- for the increase, strengthening, and building up of all the existing churches in Germany;
- for the raising up of lampstands in many cities that have been visited since October.
Thessaloniki, Greece
As a result of the blending tours and regional conference held in the Balkans after the ITERO in October 2017, the Lord has gained a desire for further blending among the saints in the Balkans. We are planning another regional conference in the fall.
In Thessaloniki we are appreciating the Lord's steady increase. We are having conversations with several of our Rhema literature readers. Please pray that:
- the contacts we are now meeting with, and many Greeks in general, would be granted a spirit of wisdom and revelation to see God's economy and come fully out of the system of Greek Orthodoxy;
- the application of a serving couple for a new three-year residence permit will be approved and released shortly.
Valletta, Malta
"And having been brought safely through, we recognized then that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us uncommon kindness..." (Acts 28:1-2a)
A small number of saints are meeting in Valletta, the capital of Malta, a European island country in the Mediterranean Sea between Italy and Africa. Please pray that the Lord will release some experienced ones to shepherd these saints and that He will gain a strong testimony in this country.

Prayer, Week of January 21
Overcoming Degradation by Living Christ
"For the love of Christ constrains us because we have judged this, that One died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all that those who live may no longer live to themselves but to Him who died for them and has been raised." (2 Cor. 5:14-15)
In order to overcome the principle of Babylon, we need to daily take Christ as our burnt offering, which typifies Christ in His living a life that is perfect and absolutely for God and for God's satisfaction and in His being the life that enables God's people to have such a living. When we lay our hands on Christ through prayer, the life-giving Spirit will immediately move and work within us to live a life that is a repetition of the life that Christ lived on earth, the life of the burnt offering. (The Recovery of the Church, msg. 3, VI., VI.B)
A New Beginning in Los Angeles
We continue to pray for a new beginning this year. This new beginning will not be sudden (miraculous) but gradual (of life). We pray that each one of us will experience the Lord in new ways by forgetting what is behind and stretching forward to purse Christ in spirit. Lord, call us upward this year!
FTTA Gospel Trips
The gospel trips are 15 to 18 days duration. Five trips began two weeks ago, four began last week, and 42 begin later this week. A total of 253 trainees are on these 51 teams. Most teams will go to multiple cities. Reports are posted multiple times per week at http://beseeching.org. Please pray for:
- the Spirit to brood over the 120 cities in North America to prepare many hearts for the gospel of the kingdom;
- the Lord to reap a harvest across all of the campuses in North America;
- the coordination and blending of the trainees with local saints;
- the health of all the trainees and the safe travel of the trainees to their gospel trip destinations.
FTTA Boston
The Spring 2018 term of FTTA-XB begins on January 22. There are 7 incoming trainees with a total of 33 trainees this term.
Lyon, France
The church life began in 2003 with a small group of students. Families moved to Lyon beginning in 2005 to strengthen the church life. Currently there are about 40 saints participating regularly, of which 40% are college students. Meetings are in saints' homes and a restaurant owned by saints. Beginning in September 2016, we felt the need to purchase a meeting hall so we could be enlarged. At the end of December 2017 we found a small office property (1,200 square feet) which meets our needs. Our offer was accepted by the owner and we expect to close escrow by the end of February. We will continue to pray that the Lord will enlarge our capacity to receive His grace
A six minute video of their church life is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9McEIBf3pn8/.
India
Pray for the coming propagation in India by college students from Taiwan, January 29 to February 7, that the Lord may make them fruitful branches abiding in the True Vine.

Prayer, Week of January 14, 2018
Seeing God's Eternal Purpose and Enlightening All
Grace is given "to announce to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel and to enlighten all that they may see what the economy of the mystery is, which throughout the ages has been hidden in God, who created all things…according to the eternal purpose which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Eph. 3:8-11)
Paul preached not only the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ; he also preached the gospel concerning the economy of the mystery hidden in God. Today we must announce the gospel concerning the mystery hidden in God in order to enlighten all so that they may see what is the economy of the mystery hidden in God, who created all things for the fulfillment of His will, the desire of His heart, and His eternal purpose. (The Recovery of the Church, msg 1, II.H, II.H.2)
Lord, grace us to see Your eternal purpose, to lay hold of Your unsearchable riches, and to gospelize so that many more in Los Angeles may be enlightened to see God's economy.
Venice High School
Friday, January 12, the Venice High School Bible Reading Club had a table at the school's club fair. Many fliers were handed out, and 14 names with contact information were received at our table. Praise the Lord! Please pray for:
- the Lord to strengthen and supply the young people to followup with each contact;
- the contacts to be open to come to the Monday meetings, and for many to be remaining fruit;
- the Lord to be the young people's wisdom in deciding which material to read for this semester.

Prayer, Week of January 7
A New Beginning
"I pursue....Brothers, I do not account of myself to have laid hold; but one thing I do: Forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, I pursue toward the goal for the prize to which God in Christ Jesus has called me upward." (Phil. 3:12-14) At the time Paul wrote this, he was ahead of us in Christian growth, yet he still pursued, he still stretched forward.
The church life in Los Angeles began in 1962. We have been faithful to maintain the church life through 56 years, but we are not here to merely maintain the church life. We seek a new beginning in 2018, an upward advance to greater joy, to more spontaneous churching beyond scheduled meetings, to spread a brightly shining testimony throughout this vast city, and to increase in number with a variety of people of all ages.
A new beginning requires that we give ourselves and pursue, forgetting the things behind (not even lingering in past experiences of Christ - Phil. 3:13, note 2) and stretching forward to the things ahead of us. May we experience and gain the Christ who is so wonderful and surpassingly rich that He causes us to count everything else as trash! (Phil. 3:8) Let us all pray for this new beginning.
Lord, "Draw me; we will run after You." (Song of Songs 1:4a)

We look to the Lord for another fruitful year and ask that you pray for many more people to find Bibles for America's website and order a free Bible, download free books, read our blog, watch a video, or listen to a podcast. May this rich ministry get into the hands of all who seek Him!

Prayer, Week of December 31
Experiencing Christ in His Experiences to Become the Reproduction, Duplication, and Enlargement of Christ
"For to me, to live is Christ" (Phil. 1:21). Lord, grant us more beholding of You, more appreciating, taking, and eating of Yourself, more digesting, enjoying, and applying of Yourself, so that we may experience You in Your experiences to be constituted with You. Raise us up to be Your reproduction, duplication, enlargement, and expression in Los Angeles!
Christ is our New Year
"The body [the substance, the reality which casts the shadow] is of Christ" (Col. 2:17). Christ is the reality of all positive things in the universe, including our new month and our new year. These outward beginnings remind us that there is always a new portion of Christ for us to see and to gain. Lord, lead us into fresh experiences of Yourself this month and this year.

UK Building Project
Besides the FTT in London, there are also one-week trainings open to all in the recovery in Europe. The present facilities limit attendance to 200 saints per year. At the winter training we saw a 4-1/2 minute video about Woodland Camp; see http://www.amanatrust.org.uk/reports The full development will support attendance of 200 per week. The goal in 2018 is to build a new Pavilion with multiple meeting places, dining facility, offices, and a book shop. The financial need is about $2.5 million.
Pray for the Lord to grace many saints locally and around the world to participate. Offerings may be given to the church in LA, designated UK Building Fund or by other means described at http://www.lordsmove.org/ukbuildingfund/.

Prayer, Week of December 17
Christ is Everything for God's Redeemed
The worship portrayed in Leviticus is a matter of contacting God by enjoying Christ as the common portion with God and with one another. The issue of enjoying Christ with God is the holy living of God's people. Leviticus ends with God's aspiration that we vow to devote ourselves to Him. God has done everything for us and now He needs us to enjoy Him. (Lev. 1:1, note 1; 27:30, note 1)
The winter training will be on Christ as everything for our fellowship with God through Christ as all the offerings. Let us vow to devote ourselves to Him to enjoy Him during this training and ask Him to arrange everything to maximize this enjoyment in Anaheim, in the video trainings, and throughout the recovery.
FTTA Graduation
The FTTA graduation will be this Saturday, December 23. Please pray that each of the 48 graduates will follow the Lamb wherever He goes, that all current trainees will be supplied to continue, and that the Lord will bring at least 60 new trainees including 30 brothers to the spring term beginning in February.

Germany
Some cities and universities have had very positive responses to the October Bible distributions, and over 20 cities have the potential for new churches to be established in 2018. Please ask the Lord:
- to work in the hearts of all the Bible recipients;
- to continue to richly supply the saints to follow up with all the open, seeking recipients;
- to supply sufficient saints for each city, including those who know the German language and those who have experience in a solid church life;
- for the gaining of German students and young German working professionals.
National College Training in India
This training is December 23 to 26. Our goal is to have 500 attend. By late November there were 508 registered (last year was 359), and this is very encouraging! Our prayer is that many would have a desire to go to FTT New Delhi. Our hope is that 20 would join FTT New Delhi next term. Currently, there are 44 trainees.

Prayer, Week of December 10
The Riches of Christ
"To me... was this grace given to announce to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ as the gospel... in order that now... the multifarious wisdom of God might be made known through the church." "Holding the Head, out from whom all the Body, being richly supplied and knit together... grows with the growth of God." (Eph. 3:8, 10; Col. 2:19)
When God's chosen people partake of and enjoy the riches of Christ, they are constituted with those riches to be the church, God's habitation and kingdom on earth, through which God's multifarious wisdom is made known; hence, the church is the wise exhibition of all that Christ is. (Crystallization-Study of Ezekiel, week 23, I.A, I.E)
The Shaking of Southern California
"For thus says Jehovah of hosts, Yet once more - it is but a little while - I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land" (Hag. 2:6).
There were many brush fires, large and small, in Southern California in the past week, with the consequences of actual and potential evacuations, highway and school closures, poor air quality, power outages, and destroyed buildings. May this "shaking" open more people to receive the gospel and stir us to speak the gospel in more places at more times.
Chinese-Speaking Gospel Meeting
On Saturday, December 16 there will be a Southern California Chinese-Speaking gospel meeting in Arcadia.
FTTA-MA Graduation
The graduation of the Middle-Age FTTA will be this Saturday, December 16. Pray that each of the 35 graduates will be headed up by the Head for their future church life and service.
Pray also that the Lord will bring at least 40 new trainees, especially many from North America, to the spring term, which starts in March.
North America
In January and February, trainees from FTTA will join local saints in 16 cities in the U.S. and 6 in Canada to preach the gospel and minister Christ to people for the Lord's spread in North America.
Please pray for the many preparations still to be made, including team formation, travel arrangements, coordination with local saints, and the securing of venues for distributing free Bibles and books.
Germany
In October almost 500 saints participated in Bible distributions in over 60 cities and on more than 50 university campuses. Some of these cities and universities have had very positive responses and there are still hundreds of recipients wanting contact.
The cities with potential for raising up of churches in 2018 are shown on the following map. Among these, only Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart currently have churches. Small numbers of saints are in many of the other cities. Please ask the Lord to supply sufficient saints for each city, including those who know the German language and some who have experience in a solid church life.
UK Building Project (London)
There is an urgent need to construct facilities in London for the training of the saints in Europe in the truth and the practice of the church life. For information regarding this burden, see UK Building Project at https://www.amanatrust.org.uk. Instructions for giving can be found at http://www.lordsmove.org/ukbuildingfund/ or give to the church in L.A. In either case, designate offerings for "UK Building Project."

Prayer, Week of December 3
Being Measured by the Lord
"When the man went out to the east with the line in His hand, He measured a thousand cubits; and He led me through the water, water that was to the ankles. Then He measured a thousand cubits and led me through the water, water that was to the knees. Then He measured a thousand cubits and led me through the water, water that was to the loins. Then He measured a thousand cubits, and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be crossed." (Ezek. 47:3-5)
"He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water." (John 7:38)
The main point for us in Ezekiel 47 is that we all need to be willing to be measured. There is no need for us to struggle, to strive, or to exercise our effort to do anything. The only need is… to be willing to be measured again and again and again and again. We need to tell the Lord, "Lord, I am willing to be measured." Then the flow will eventually become a river. If the saints in a local church are willing to be measured again and again and again and again, four times to one hundred percent, there will be a river to water the parched desert, to heal the dead sea, to grow the trees and produce the fish, and to produce the kids and the calves. What we need is to be measured for the Lord's move. We need to be tested, examined, taken over, and possessed by the Lord. (CWWL, 1969, vol. 2, "The Crucial Revelation of Life in the Scriptures," pp. 436-437)
Oak Glen
The Southern California churches took possession of Oak Glen at the end of 2015. After the down payment, the plan was to pay the remaining balance of the purchase price by the end of 2017. Later, this was extended to the end of 2018 to reduce the size of the payments. As of late November, contributions are about $900,000 short of the planned December 31 payment.
"We make known to you, brothers, the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia, that in much proving of affliction the abundance of their joy and the depth of their poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality" (2 Cor. 8:1b-2). Lord, grant us the same grace experienced in Macedonia!
Gospel in El Monte
The church in El Monte has prayed two months for local gospel outreach. This week they begin door-knocking. They will go out in teams of three saints—one English-speaking, one Spanish-speaking, and one Chinese-speaking. Lord, bear remaining fruit in El Monte!
Winter Training
The upcoming winter training will cover the first seven chapters of Leviticus. Those who wish to prepare for this time may find it helpful to read messages 1 to 27 of the Life-study of Leviticus.
Lyon, France
In our last report, we thanked the Lord for keeping the door open for our Bible study on the campus of La Doua. The Lord is now adding new contacts to our meetings. For the past few weeks, seven new contacts came—all Christians who are seeking. One French brother had seen our poster last year and taken a photo of it with the intention to join; however, he was not available until this month. He is now willing to represent us to keep the club going. How marvelous that the Lord has prepared this one! Please pray for Lord's advance on this campus and for bringing local saints into the church life.
FTTL Graduation
This Saturday, December 9 will be the graduation meeting for the Full-Time Training in London at Bower House. Please pray that the Lord would bless the 13 graduating trainees in their future life and service, that they may continue to be living and functioning members in the Body. At the same time, pray for the Lord to bring many new trainees from across Europe for next term.
India
The September to November newsletter of the churches in India is at https://churchinlosangeles.org/prayer. The churches ask that we pray for:
- their strengthening through the ministry, the experience of life, and establishing of the practice of the God-ordained way;
- spreading into more cities in India, especially in the heavily populated northern part;
- propagation among the college campuses;
- perfecting of the 44 trainees in the FTT New Delhi to be the useful vessels for the Lord.
Ethiopia
From December 8 to 10 there will be a Winter Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Asia
The 2017 Lord's Move in Asia Conference was held in South Korea, October 24 to 26, with the general subject, "The Building Up of the Body of Christ with its Organic Practice." Saints from 23 countries participated in this glorious gathering. A report from the conference is at:
