Praying to Bind the God of this Age
“In whom the god of this age has blinded the thoughts of the unbelievers that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake.” (2 Cor. 4:4-5)
In [2 Corinthians 4:4] Paul also informs us that the god of this age, the ruler of this world, has blinded the thoughts of the unbelievers. The god of this age is Satan, the ruler of the present age, who dominates today’s world and hunts for people’s worship by blinding their minds and thoughts. All people today, whether primitive or highly cultured, have been blinded by the god of this age. We need to pray, “Lord, I trust in You to defeat the god of this age. Apart from You, I do not worship anyone or anything.” If we pray in this way, the divine light will shine, and we will receive revelation. If we drop our concepts and turn our heart to the Lord, the veils will be taken away, and the god of this age will have no ground in our being. (Experiencing, Enjoying, and Expressing Christ (2), msg. 5, II.A, 1-5)
Let us pray to bind the god of this age and his blinding both of the saints in their receiving revelation and of the unbelievers in receiving the gospel.
UCLA Gospel Meeting Follow-up
Thank you, saints, for your prayers concerning the gospel meeting held at UCLA last Friday, May 2. Approximately 80 students attended, including around 25 gospel guests. After some singing, testimonies, and a gospel message, 9 friends prayed to receive the Lord. Hallelujah! Please pray:
- For these newly saved ones to begin reading the Bible and be nourished with the milk of the word.
- For these ones to also have a follow-up appointment this week for encouragement and fellowship.
- For the Lord’s word to operate in the hearts of those who have not yet prayed to receive Him.
Campus Team Retreat
This week, from Monday to Thursday, more than 400 saints, most of whom serve full-time, are gathering in New York for fellowship related to their service and to the care for the next generation in the Lord’s recovery. Please pray:
- For the fresh supply and a timely word to all who attend.
- For the Lord’s shining and perfecting for us to advance in our care for the next generation.
- For all the serving ones to become of one accord for the Lord’s move on the earth.
Our Sixth Graders
This past weekend, sixth graders from Southern California went to Oak Glen for the Sixth Grade Conference. The topic was “Where Are You?” with an emphasis on knowing your sinful condition before God, not hiding from God, and the salvation of God in the Church.
Please pray that the Lord’s speaking would continue to resonate and operate in all the young people who attended, that they would have the assurance of their salvation, and that their hearts would be the good earth for Christ as the kingdom seed to grow in them.
Bibles for America
BfA recently released a new video entitled “What does the blood and water from Jesus’ side mean?” In under 3 minutes, this short video dives into John 19:34 to see the deep spiritual significance of the blood and water that issued from Jesus’ pierced side. It also explains how we can apply both the blood and the water in our daily Christian life.
Please pray for this video to reach many people through the BfA website (bfa.org/videos) and social media channels. Pray they would not only learn the truth about this marvelous sign, but would also be helped to experience both the blood and the water in their daily lives.
France – XB Gospel Trips
FTTA-XB trainees are currently on gospel trips in France until May 19. Cities they are visiting include Lille, Rouen, Strasbourg, Toulouse, and the Paris region; some will also visit Luxembourg. May the Lord bless all the trainee teams and their blending with the local saints for the raising up of churches as His golden lampstands and the advancement of His move in France and in French-speaking Europe.
Please pray:
- For the Lord to fully cover the travel, safety, security, and health of all those involved.
- For the fresh and detailed consecrations of the trainees and for their enlarged view and burden for the Lord’s move in Europe.
- That many divine appointments to take place for the Lord to encourage existing saints and gain local French speakers and their families.
- That the Lord’s prevailing testimony could be raised up in more French-speaking cities.
Milan, Italy
“Those from Italy greet you.” (Heb. 13:24b)
This weekend, May 10 to 11, there will be a blending conference in Milan. We thank the Lord for the prayers of so many saints and churches throughout the earth, and welcome all the saints to blend with us so that together, as one Body, we might testify of the victory of Christ. Please pray for the blending of the saints in the Lord’s Body and the speaking of the Lord for the advance of His move in Italy.
(Next year, the 2026 Winter Olympic Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6 to 22. The Torch Relay throughout Italy will begin on December 6, 2025.)
