Meeting Together – Our Need and God’s Need

“Not abandoning our own assembling together… but exhorting one another; and so much the more as you see the day drawing near.” (Heb. 10:25)

“But if all prophesy and some unbeliever or unlearned person enters, he is convicted by all, he is examined by all; the secrets of his heart become manifest; and so falling on his face, he will worship God, declaring that indeed God is among you.” (1 Cor. 14:24-25)

When we come together, our intention may be to pray, to worship, to serve, to hear a message, to be taught, to be exhorted, to be strengthened, to be comforted, and to be encouraged. This is our understanding. Actually, with our meetings there are so many wonderful things underneath the surface. We gain a lot of benefits and profit that we do not realize by participating in the meetings.

To meet together is not a small thing…. Here we know the will of God, here we do the will of God, and eventually we will fulfill His purpose. (CWWL, 1982, vol. 1, “Experiencing Christ as the Offerings for the Church Meetings,” pp. 488, 490-491)

Pray that the saints would be daily strengthened in their spirit by the exercise of their spirit in their daily living so that they can freely release their spirit in all kinds of meetings to minister life to one another, with the result that the saints would be mingled and blended together and the church would be built up (Eph. 3:16-19). Labor in Coordination with God’s Divine Labor

“No plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up—for Jehovah God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to work the ground.” (Gen. 2:5)

If you do nothing, God cannot do anything, for He needs human labor to cooperate with His divine labor. What is the use of the rain [the Spirit] coming down if there is no man to till the ground? If, as a man, you have tilled the ground, you have the right to pray, “Lord, I am here. Send the rain.”

We must labor in coordination with God’s divine labor. Day and night we must pray for our relatives and our friends. We must work on them. Then the rain will come. If we do not cooperate with God by tilling the ground, the rain will never come. God does not waste His rain. When it comes, it comes to produce life. (Life-Study of Genesis, ch. 10, sec. 4)

FTTA – Summer Interim Fellowship

This fellowship will be once a week with current and incoming trainees for both Anaheim and Boston. Though these times are not mandatory, we hope that the times of fellowship would be one of encouragement, nourishment, and a way to provide updates for the coming term for the trainees.

Berlin, Germany

Please pray to bind opposition and to loose the complete mailing so that the tracts will reach all the households in a timely way and that many will receive the gospel and be added to the church.

Prayer for the Current Situation

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States and around the globe, please pray:

  1. For the Lord to protect all His interests on earth, including the saints and the churches;

  2. For the saints and churches to be open to what the Lord will accomplish during this time;

  3. For the saints to persevere in prayer for the Lord’s final move to end this age; and

  4. For the gospel of the kingdom to be proclaimed and the hearts of many men to be open to receive it.
