Psalm 87: God’s Desire for Zion with Christ

“Jehovah loves the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob.” (Psalm 87:2)
“Jehovah will count When He records the peoples: This One was born there.” (Psalm 87:6)

The Psalms show us that God’s heart is set on Zion, the city of God, with Christ within it (87:2-3). This city has Christ as its foundation (v. 1, 1 Cor. 3:11), and has gates for fellowship (v. 2). As believers, we were born in Zion with Christ (vv. 6-7; Rom. 8:29). May God’s desire for Zion become our desire!

  1. Hallelujah!! The Lord Really desires Zion, which is beautiful in elevation and the joy of the whole earth. Wow it’s good to see that this heavenly city, Zion is actually the group of believers that overcome today!! I like that the Lord in Revelation 2 and 3 is calling the believers to overcome the degraded situation on earth today, and it are these ones who become Zion, the desire of God’s heart. AMEN!!

  2. Although Mount Zion is beautiful in elevation, it is not really that high –but high enough! Praise the Lord!
