Psalm 102: Christ’s Eternal and Unchanging Existence in His Resurrection

“I watch, and I am like A lone sparrow on a housetop.” (Psalm 102:7)
“They will perish, but You endure; Indeed all of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years are without end.” (Psalm 102:26-27)

Psalm 102 reveals the relationship between the death and resurrection of Christ and Zion, a type of the church. Through His death and resurrection, Christ produced the church as His Body and deposited the very resurrection power in the church. When we live according to the resurrection life, the church becomes the real built-up Zion, causing all the nations to turn to the Lord and serve Him.

  1. This is really encouraging to see the church as an entity that exists in resurrection. I enjoyed Psalm 102:18, that “This will be written for a generation to come, and a people to be created will praise Jehovah”. Today we are that generation and those people who are part of the “resurrectionly” church, praising Jehovah!
